and again to be able to feel like you're contributing your own work will suddenly make it seem pretty awesome even while you're still learning. It sounds like you're part of a good crew which is important but I think starting to learn enough on your own just to be able to ask questions to learn more, etc. And ideally, if you still find yourself enjoying the game after giving it a go independently, than you will get more into it with the group after seeing some ways to be able to contribute that are your own without feeling like you're just doing necessary chores or without having the context to understand why that thing you're doing is important. So give yourself a bit of a break and try the game itself with less pressure. I know for myself, I have to spend a fair amount of time just trying to think of next steps or whatever and having to do that with people, no matter how patient, would stress me out. I honestly think the best thing is to maybe try a solo game on your own for a bit and pick up some of the feeling for it if for no other reason than it will help your self-confidence when playing with others. Without a chance to really see how the bits and parts work together, to do your own problem solving, to try and figure it out a bit on your own with minimal pressure. I think part of your challenge now based on your post is you've kind of been dropped into a game somewhat far along without that sense of progression.
